Last-Minute Campaigning Means Lots of TFRs

Alexandria, Va. – With a very tight presidential race entering a final, frenetic weekend of campaigning, helicopter operators can expect numerous short-notice temporary flight restrictions (TFRs) and last-minute changes to existing Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) — especially in the so-called “battleground” states. Be sure to check for updates immediately prior to each flight.

Remember that TFR NOTAMs posted in RotorNews, on HAI’s website, or even on the FAA’s own TFR web page do not constitute an official briefing. The only official record that a pilot or flight department has checked NOTAMs for a given flight is a verbal briefing from Flight Services or one of the two online briefing providers, CSC or DTC.
