A look at an international HAI member up close and personal.

Blueberry Aviation markets itself as the only private full-service aviation company supporting both the helicopter and commercial aviation industries worldwide. The company delivers aircraft sales, trading, technical, repossession, and asset management services to both markets, serving operators, owners, financiers, and investors.

Founded in 2003 and based in Monaco, Blueberry Aviation today operates not only in its home country but also in Singapore, Dublin, and New York, employing 21 highly skilled men and women. Blueberry’s expansive portfolio of services includes technical audits, lease monitoring to ensure compliance, lease management, mergers-and-acquisitions support, valuation, relocation management, aircraft reconfiguration, aircraft storage and management, and more.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, Blueberry has worked extensively to support the helicopter industry, completing 12 transactions since the beginning of 2020 involving operators in the United States, Europe, and Asia, with the majority involving new air ambulance missions.

Though the helicopter market experienced a quick decline as an immediate reaction to the virus, Blueberry observed a swift recovery and resilience and determination on the part of operators. The helicopter side of the company’s business was less affected than the commercial side, as the fundamental necessity for helicopter services such as air ambulances, firefighting, and surveillance led to a quick bounce back.

Despite the COVID-induced travel bans, Blueberry has successfully carried out helicopter inspections and deliveries worldwide, including in Africa, Australia, and Europe, while also assisting owners and financiers with technical inspections and repossessions for helicopter and commercial aircraft fleets.

Blueberry credits its success over the years, and especially during the pandemic, to its wholistic approach. The company couples team expertise with extensive knowledge of the aerospace market to identify opportunities to trade, source, remarket, and manage aircraft portfolios effectively. Working with its customers, Blueberry identifies the ideal equipment selection for each client, structures efficient aircraft transactions, and provides asset management for aircraft portfolios as needed.

Blueberry also believes in giving back to the community. The company actively supports humanitarian and charitable initiatives throughout Europe, handpicking small and large associations with the greatest focus on assisting those in need, with a particular concentration in helping children and fighting illnesses.

In addition to HAI, Blueberry Aviation is a long-standing member of the European Business Aviation Association, the European Regions Airline Association, the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading, and the National Business Aviation Association.
