Entrol manufactures EASA- and FAA-certified helicopter and airplane flight simulators for companies and organizations around the world. The Madrid, Spain–based company has developed more than 20 models, from advanced aviation training device (AATD) to flight training device (FTD) Level 7 models for the FAA market and from flight and navigation procedures trainer (FNPT) II to FTD Level 3 for the EASA market.

Family Business
Entrol was established in 2005 by brothers Luis Olarte, who has a background in business, and Pedro Olarte, an aeronautical engineer. In the early days, Pedro developed all the software while Luis learned how to design, develop, and integrate the hardware to meet the company’s goals of quality and reliability. Today, Pedro is in charge of the research and development department, assisted by a growing team of talented engineers, and Luis focuses on general management.

Entrol has steadily grown during the past 16 years, with 2020 being a positive year that saw facility and employee expansion despite the pandemic. Last year, the company celebrated its first US office, in Miami, Florida, and announced the opening of a showroom for its H135 FTD Level 5 simulator at Sunny Aviation in Denver, Colorado. Entrol also launched new Bell 505 FTD Level 6 and H125 FTD Level 5 simulators.

The company is currently working on the development of an H145 FTD Level 5 simulator. Long-term, the R&D department is developing a virtual-reality hoist trainer and a night-vision goggles visual system.
