Valhalla Helicopters is a helicopter tour operator based in West Kelowna, British Columbia. The company offers a wide variety of scenic helicopter tours, custom charters, and commercial helicopter services.

Although most of Valhalla’s flights take place in Canada’s Okanagan Valley, the company also holds licenses to operate worldwide. Its sister company, Valhalla Helicopters Pty. Ltd., operates out of Shellharbour Airport (YSHL), formerly Illawarra Regional Airport, in New South Wales, Australia.

Fleet of Bells
Valhalla, which is privately owned and operated by Blair Savege, began operations in 2003 with a single Bell 212 BLR: C-GLFT. The company’s fleet growth has been carefully planned and managed since then, with Valhalla now operating the following Bell aircraft:

  • Three 212 HP BLRs
  • Two 205++ BLRs
  • Five 206Bs.

Maintenance and Training
Valhalla holds Transport Canada certification as an approved maintenance organization (AMO) and is certified to complete work on the Bell 206 series, Bell 205 series, and Bell 212 series of helicopters.

The company employs a staff of experienced, licensed aircraft maintenance engineers (AME) with knowledge of Bell medium aircraft. The company’s AMEs have completed courses in all aircraft types Valhalla operates, and they participate in regular and recurrent training programs, including various Bell symposiums; sessions in company procedures, inspection schedules, and human factors in maintenance; and a tailored health and safety management system.

The company’s director of maintenance, Chad Wasylenko, maintains primary responsibility for coordination of the fleet’s daily maintenance requirements, as well as complete refurbishment projects. Major structural, engine, and component overhauls are contracted to suitably qualified third-party facilities.
