Your Thoughts and Prayers

  • Matt Callan, HAI
I pray that Doreen and the rest of Matt's family will be comforted during this difficult time. Matt will always be a legend in the helicopter industry. I am very fortunate to have worked for Matt at HAI during his last three years with the company. During my time at HAI I enjoyed opportunities to sit with Matt and listen to his stories of flying in Vietnam and New York City. I recall on many occasions telling Matt that he should write a book featuring his amazing experiences while in the US Army and corporate life, but he always countered by saying, "no one would ever believe me!" Matt was a one-of-a-kind guy and we are all richer for having known him. We've missed him every day since he retired from HAI, and the helicopter community will never forget him. Gone but not forgotten. - Matt Callan, HAI
  • Captain Dolores Greenlaw
My name is Dolores Greenlaw, I am a Canadian Helicopter Pilot, who had the opportunity to meet and interact with Matt at HAI as the winner of the Michelle North Memorial Safety Scholarship a few years back . His warm welcome made me feel instantly comfortable and his gentle demeanour made everyone feel at ease In his presence. I was impressed by the way he conducted himself professionally at all times, while maintaining that gleam in his eyes. So sorry to hear of his passing ...may knowing how he touched so many lives in the helicopter business with his kindness and wisdom and your own precious memories give you comfort at this time - Captain Dolores Greenlaw, Kelowna BC Canana
  • Mark Ogden
Tina and I are so sad to learn of Matt's passing. He devoted so many years to advancing the cause of the helicopter industry, his retirement, I am sure, was to be a time for him to spend with family and friends. The world's helicopter industry is a band of brothers and sisters and his impact on the industry was immense. He gave so much to us in the industry regardless of where we were in the world. - Mark Ogden, Australia and Papua New Guinea
  • Ed Bolen
Our thoughts and prayers are with Matt’s family and friends at this difficult moment,” Bolen said. “Matt was a patriot, a leader, a consummate professional and a friend, who will be greatly missed.” - Ed Bolen, President and CEO, National Business Aviation Association (NBAA)
