Monroe, Conn. - The Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) announces that the Proffer has been approved by the Department of the Army! Victoria (TX) Advocate - A Port Lavaca woman took home the award for best jet from a worldwide competition in Wisconsin. [Whirly-Girls president] Dianna Stanger won the "best jet" award from the EAA AirVenture Warbird Awards for her Aero Vodochody Albatros L-139. The EAA AirVenture is an aircraft convention that was from July 25 to 31 in Oshkosh, Wis.

(West Chester, Pa.) - The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center (AHMEC) will expand its facilities by the end of 2015, recently announced AHMEC’s Board of Trustees. In addition to increased exhibit space, the West Chester museum will add a fully-equipped theater and two state-of-the-art classrooms for education programming.

Now in its eighth successful year, WomenVenture has provided a venue for women attending EAA AirVenture Oshkosh to bond with like-minded individuals and have fun as well. WomenVenture began at the EAA Nature Center with a sold-out Women in Aviation International Connect breakfast, sponsored by Avemco, and attended by over 360 enthusiastic showgoers. Jessica Cox, the first woman without arms to earn her pilot's license, was the breakfast speaker.
