The Helicopter Rescue & Response Association (HRRA) is in the planning stages for the 2016 Rescue Summit that will be held on February 29th in Louisville, Kentucky. Australia’s Transport and Logistics Industry Skills Council Ltd (TLISC) has been contracted by the Commonwealth Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development to undertake a study into the state of the aviation workforce in Australia. The study will identify the industry’s workforce and skill need, as well as the actions that can be taken by industry to meet those needs. Submissions are due by Friday, October 16.

The success of Women in Aviation International's first Girls in Aviation Day requires a repeat performance in 2016. The 2016 Girls in Aviation Day is officially set for Saturday, September 24, 2016. Plans are already underway to make this event even bigger and better than the first!

The sixty-year tradition of the Whirly-Girls Scholarship Fund to promote women in the rotorcraft industry has reached a new milestone. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has, for the first time, sponsored two scholarships for Whirly-Girls members.

As September 26 approaches, 49 of Women in Aviation's chapters are putting the finishing touches on their local Girls in Aviation Day events. As WAI's largest youth outreach to date, Girls in Aviation Day will involve girls ages 8 to 16 in aviation activities, tours, speakers, and fun, all designed with the purpose of attracting girls to the variety of aviation careers available to them.
