Helicopter Foundation International has long recognized the need for qualified commercial helicopter pilots and helicopter maintenance technicians. Over the last several years, the shortage has become real. Many of our experienced pilots and maintenance technicians are nearing retirement age, the war has pulled experienced personnel from our ranks at a time when the helicopter industry is enjoying growth due in part to the wider recognition of the tremendous versatility of this phenomenal and versatile machine.

As the aircraft industry enters into an ever-increasing array of endeavors that have become ever more sophisticated, the requirement for highly skilled pilots and maintenance technicians becomes more and more critical.

HFI is offering an array of scholarships to answer the need for both qualified helicopter pilots and maintenance technicians, and to provide further training for Safety Managers and other professionals in the Safety field.

Commercial Helicopter Rating Scholarship

In answer to the Helicopter Industry’s need for qualified Pilots, and in an effort to attract new talent to the industry,
Helicopter Foundation International is sponsoring Four Commercial Helicopter Pilot Scholarships.

Maintenance Technician Certificate Scholarship

In answer to the Helicopter Industry’s need for qualified Helicopter Maintenance Technicians and in an effort
to attract new talent to the industry, the HFI is sponsoring six (6) scholarships for Helicopter Maintenance
Technicians.

• Up to six (6) Scholarships of $2,500 each may be awarded.

 Bill Sanderson Aviation Maintenance Technician Scholarship

Helicopter Foundation International (HFI) is pleased to announce the 2012 Bill Sanderson Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Scholarship Award Program. This program was founded by Helicopter Association International’s (HAI) Technical Committee to promote the choice of helicopter maintenance as a career.

 Michelle North Scholarship for Safety

HFI is pleased to offer this Scholarship in memory of Michelle North, a well-known helicopter safety expert and educator. Michelle was a Member of HAI's Safety Committee for many years and also served as its Chairman.
