Over the next several weeks, the Safety Committee will be asking you questions here in RotorNews and on www.rotor.org to help determine the safety concerns of HAI members. Your answers to these questions will help guide the discussion at the Safety Town Hall meeting during HELI-EXPO 2014. That meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 25, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.
User Fees Reportedly Part of Budget Deal

House and Senate negotiators trying to reach agreement on a joint budget and avert another government shutdown early next year are said to be leaning toward user fees, including aviation user fees, as a new source of revenue, and could vote as early as Wednesday. HAI is calling on members to tell Congress, "No user fees!"
Report: Air BP launches loyalty card for general aviation fuel

(Corporate Jet Investor) - Air BP has launched what is billed as general aviation’s first direct cash back reward card in conjunction with Citibank Worldwide. The card can be used internationally but is currently only available at Biggin Hill Airport near London, England. Air BP expects to make it available in other countries in 2014.

First Ph.D. Students Graduate from Embry-Riddle Programs

Harford County Sheriff Gets New Helicopter

Forest Hill, Md. (wbaltv.com) — The Harford County Sheriff's Office now has an aviation unit, and thanks to the federal government, the new helicopter didn't cost the county a cent. "There was no cost, through the 1033 program, these aircraft are transferred to law enforcement for law enforcement purposes at zero cost," Harford County Sheriff's Office Lt. Lee Dunbar said.
Female Embry-Riddle Students Given WAI Memberships

Female students at both campuses of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University have been given a one-year membership in Women in Aviation, International. Students at both the Prescott, Arizona, campus and the Daytona Beach, Florida, campus are now full WAI members. The 1,372 Embry-Riddle students will receive all WAI member benefits.
